3 Years Pass And Daughter Still Seeks Justice
 VANDERBURGH CO., IN - Who murdered Georgia Jean Cook three years ago? That is the question that sadly the police and Cook's family have not yet been able to answer. NEWS 25 takes another look at the cold case and speak with Cook's daughter. Detectives are looking for the tip that will finally lead to an arrest.
Father Charged with Murdering Infant
OWENSBORO, KY - NEWS 25 is continuing to track the story about an Owensboro baby who died over the weekend in a Louisville hospital. The baby girl's dad, 32-year-old Robert Arvin, was first charged with assault, but now he faces murder charges.
Ten-Year Cold Case May be Solved
 DAVIESS CO., KY - It took more than ten years, but a missing persons case may be solved after a van containing human remains of three people was found Friday night. The van that surfaced in a lake on Friday turned out to be the vehicle the three men were last seen in November 1998.

 VANDERBURGH CO. - NEWS 25 is checking in at the jail to see how the newly hired dentist for the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office is working out. Deputies tell us having a dentist in house is a safer and cheaper practice.
Man & Woman Stab Each Other
UPDATED 9:30pm EVANSVILLE - NEWS 25 has learned that an arrest has been made tonight. Police say two people who live in an east side apartment stabbed each other tonight. It happened at the Vann Park Apartments at Vann and Pollack. Police tell us the man and woman were roommates and that each stabbed the other.
Voter Registration Is Over And The Numbers Are In
 EVANSVILLE - Monday was the last day to register to vote in Indiana and Kentucky. If you didn't get in by Monday at 4:30, you're out of luck, unless you have your paperwork postmarked by October 6. We have the registered voter numbers.
Owensboro Gas Prices Soar Above Neighboring Cities
 OWENSBORO - Why are the gas prices falling faster in some places than in others? We do some digging to try and find out why there is a 25 to 30 cent difference per gallon between gas stations in Henderson and Owensboro.
Heating Bills To Rise, But Assistance Is Available
EVANSVILLE - It may seem a little early to worry about heating bills, but it is never to early to start saving for what promises to be another heating bill increase. NEWS 25 has learned that there is more federal money available this year for those having trouble paying for heat this winter. The money has been split over 24 agencies across Indiana and one of those agencies, CAPE, is accepting applications now.
Ellsworth, Goode to Face Off for 8th Congressional District Debate
VINCENNES, IN - Congressman Brad Ellsworth, D-Evansville, and Greg Goode, a Republican from Terre Haute, are scheduled to debate Tuesday night at Vincennes University. NEWS 25 will stream the event live online. The debate is being hosted by the League of Women Voters of Knox County, Southwest Indiana, Vigo County and Greencastle. It begins at 6pm Central in VU's Red Skelton Performing Arts Center.
SUV Rolls Over Several Times, One Person Injured
HENDERSON, KY - Traffic is moving once again after a SUV rolls over several times in Henderson. NEWS 25 was on the scene of the accident on US 41 just north of the Zion exit. One person was taken to the hospital.
Indiana To Receive More Than $100 Million In Heating Assistance
EVANSVILLE - Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels says the $103.7 million in federal money more than double the amount the state got last winter. State officials say low-income residents should apply now through local community action agencies. You can find contact info for them in the story.
Nortonville Teen Hurt In Weekend ATV Accident
HOPKINS CO, KY - Kentucky State Police say 15-year-old Lovan Bottoms was driving an ATV west on Pendley Road Saturday afternoon. According to a press release, Bottoms lost control of the ATV and hit a utility pole.
Two Arrested After One Man Points Gun At Person In Henderson
HENDERSON, KY - HPD says Kenneth Curtis, 25, pointed a gun at a person on 7th Street in Henderson around 6:00 PM Sunday. They report Curtis then fled from the scene in a car driven by 50-year-old Jose Chavez.
Republican National Committee Wants An Audit Of Obama´s Campaign Fund
WASHINGTON D.C. - The GOP alleges Obama's presidential campaign has accepted donations that exceed federal limits and has received illegal contributions from foreigners. Republican officials admit they don't have a list of foreign donors to Obama's campaign, but are basing their complaint largely on media reports.
Man In Hospital After Losing Control Of Motorcycle
UNION CO, KY - A motorcycle accident in Union County sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries. State Police say Danny Jo Tapp, 56, of Sturgis, KY was riding his motorcycle south on KY 109 when he lost control and slid into a ditch. They say Tapp suffered head & neck injuries.
Vacant Home Gutted By Overnight Fire
EVANSVILLE - NEWS 25 was at the scene of a vacant house fire in Evansville overnight. The fire happened just after 10:00 PM Sunday at 922 Canal Street. Fire investigators are not releasing many details, but suggest it may have been arson.

WASHINGTON - The environmental damage from Hurricane Ike last month is just now becoming clear. An analysis of federal data by The Associated Press shows at least a half million gallons of crude oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico and the marshes, bayous and bays of Louisiana and Texas.
Man Accused Of Molesting An 8-Year-Old Girl Arrested In Georgia
JASPER, IN - Indiana State Police say Emilo Rodriguez Diaz of Jasper, had allegedly been molesting an 8-year-old girl. They say the girl told family members on Friday, but by the time the family reported the crime police say Rodriguez Diaz had already fled the area. ISP says they worked with several other law enforcement agencies and were able to track their suspect down.

EVANSVILLE - Indiana is a battleground state in the race for the White House, and both presidential candidates are ramping up their efforts in the Hoosier state. Former Madisonville Police Officer Sentenced To Federal Jail Time
MADISONVILLE, KY - A U.S. District Judge in Owensboro sentenced Brain McKinney, 37, on Friday to two years in federal prison and three years of supervised release after McKinney admitted to taking & selling 85 guns from an evidence locker.
Toddler Hit By Car In Daviess County, KY
DAVIESS CO, KY - The Daviess County Sheriff's Department tells NEWS 25 a toddler was taken to the hospital after she was hit by a car on Masonville-Habit Road. They say the teen driver told them she slowed down when she saw the toddler, but the child ran out into the road.
Skeletal Remains Found In Submerged Van
 UPDATE 11:00pm OWENSBORO, KY - NEWS 25 is learning new information about a van found in a rural lake off of KY 1207. Police say a dive team found three skeletons inside the van. OPD says the van matches the description of one that went missing ten years ago. They say three men went missing with that van. Police have not confirmed to NEWS 25 if the remains belong to those men.

EVANSVILLE - AIG's CEO announced that the corporation would re-focus on its core insurance businesses, leaving the future of American General somewhat uncertain. AIG is selling its assets to help repay the 61 billion dollar balance on a loan to them by the Federal Reserve.

 OWENSBORO, KY - NEWS 25 is staying with the story of silo that collapsed in Owensboro, killing a 77-year-old man. It happened Wednesday morning at Owensboro grain. That accident is still under investigation by the state, but NEWS 25 learned the Kentucky Department of Agriculture has some responsibility when it comes to grain company inspections.
Drop in Usage Could Increase Water Rates
 EVANSVILLE - While the water department encourages people to conserve, this drop in usage could actually cost you money. The water department does not want to alarm people, but a spokesman said there is a chance rates could increase in 2009. Right now, revenue is down $750,000. NEWS 25 talked with water officials, who blame the drop on several factors, including transportation and electric costs and decreased usage.

Record Number of Registered Voters In Kentucky
FRANKFORT, KY - A statement from Secretary of State Trey Grayson on Friday said the state set a record for voter registrations on Sept. 15 and would set another high mark after registration closes out Oct. 6 for the Nov. 4 general election.
Owensboro Infant Dies In Hospital, Father In Jail On Assault Charges
UPDATE Sat. 5:27pm OWENSBORO, KY - Owensboro Police tell NEWS 25 the two-and-half-month-old infant that was flown to Louisville on Wednesday, has died. They are accusing the father, Robert Arvin, of beating the child. He was arrested earlier this week on first degree assault charges. No new charges have been filed at the time of this update.

WASHINGTON D.C. - In the past year, the Army and the Marines have given out nearly $640 million in bonuses to get people to join. The annual cost of the incentives is up by 25% from last year's totals for the two services.
Governor Requests Federal Aid For Ten Southern Indiana Counties
TRI-STATE - On Thursday, Governor Mitch Daniels asked President Bush to add 10 southern Indiana counties to a federal disaster declaration, including Knox, Martin, Pike and Spencer counties. GALATIA, IL - NEWS 25 has learned a miner at American Coal Mine was injured while on a conveyor belt Thursday afternoon.  EVANSVILLE - The City County Building Authority budgeted $2 million next year for utilities for the Civic Center building and the new jail. Kentucky Attorney General Sues State Over Inmate Release Plan
FRANKFORT, KY - Attorney General Jack Conway has filed for an injunction that would stop the Department of Corrections from continuing with the General Assembly's plan to release inmates early in order to save money. A spokeswoman for the Justice Cabinet says about 3,600 inmates or parolees have been released so far.
One Dead In Vanderburgh County Motorcycle Accident
VAND. CO., IN - The Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office tells NEWS 25 the accident happened just after 6:30 PM in the 10900 block of North Green River Road. Sheriff's deputies say a man was pulling out of his driveway when he hit a motorcycle.
